A birthday to remember (lots of pictures)

The day before my birthday
My family and I all went to Benihana. It's the Japanese food restaurant where they cook in front of you. And because of how smart my family and I are... we forgot a camera... BUT Benihana took a picture for us, printed one out there, and gave it to me... so this is all i have from that.
And my sister took a picture of our drinks with her phone. My camera on my phone is like horrible.
And here everyone was singing "happy birthday" to me. And i was waiting to blow my candle out. And of course, make a wish!!
We went the day before my birthday because I had a coupon $30 off but it was only good mon-thurs and my birthday was on a friday.

On the day of my birthday (August 26)
My sister bought be birthday balloons :D Thank you Paulina!
I needed to show this picture, my little baby boy was licking the empty bag of doritos. he LOVES cheese

July/August favorite products!

Favorite products of July and August will be listed below. As well as links to where you can buy them (if I could find them). And the if you want to see the video, you can watch that too, because that will also be posted below. I like the video, I think it's funny :D

1. Lady Gaga heartbeats by Dr. Dre.
They actually don't make these anymore, because they have new ones that came out. But if you want these, just search around on amazon, and some stores like radioshack and PC richard&son have them, but only a few left and in black or silver only, not the pink.

2. Banana Boat lip balm with aloe vera and vitamin E. SPF 45
I know they have this in Walgreens (that's where I bought mine), and possibly other drugstores, I just can't find it on the website. It's in the sunscreen aisle though!
3. NYX jumbo eye pencil in Milk
You can either go to Ulta, or buy it online from Ulta here.. curently $4
or on the NYX website here ... $4.50

4. MAC's lip primer
buy it from the MAC website here... $15
department stores such as Macy's and Bloomingdale's should have it too.

5.  MAC's paint pot in Painterly
buy it from the MAC website here .. $17.50
Bloomingdale's and Macy's should also have it at a MAC booth.
I use this as a primer, not as a base. But people use it as either.
6. MAC's blush in the color Peaches
Buy it from MAC here ... $19.50
cheaper if you buy it for a palette.
can also be bought in department stores.

7. Coconut milk shampoo & conditioner
You can get it at BJ's, and I think Duane Reade might have it

8. Coastal Scents 88 original palette and 88 warm palette
88 original palette buy here .. $18.95
88 warm palette buy here... $24.95

The good ol' days

About a year ago... I was a cheerleader....
Yep that's me on the right hand side of the picture. see how happy I was?

Even in this picture I was super super happy!
Can you find me?!

Sometimes, the things we find the greatest joy in, disappear and are gone. For me, it was cheerleading. I loved being a cheerleader, i truly did, and I had a lot of fun, though it was also a lot of work. Unfortunately, cheerleading is one of the things I no longer do.

I truly believe that things happen for a reason though. Maybe bad things would have happened if I was still a cheerleader, maybe some people hated my guts, maybe something else, i don't know what the reason because I have yet to figure that out.

I thought I'd never be that happy again as I am in the picture above. I felt like everything was taken away from me, everything I worked hard for. But today, looking back at these pictures, I see that today, I am happy. Sure my life isn't perfect, but I've found other things I like to do, I've set new goals for myself. Because you know what, things happen, and although it hurts, the sooner you realize you'll be okay and the sooner you put a smile back on your face, then the sooner your life will fall back into place. Maybe it won't be the place you want or the place you imagined. But it'll be a place that will open many new doors for you with many more opportunities.

Here's to living our lives with smiles along the way,

Color contacts!

Sometimes we all wish like we could change our eye color. I personally have brown eyes, and MOST people have brown eyes. Sometimes I just want to look a little different so thank goodness for the invention of contact lenses!

So there are two contact lenses I got from this website here:
My first choice was the Geo Tri color green contact lens
This is what they look like on my brown eyes
And second I got the Geo Hurricane blue contact lens
And again, this is what they look like on my brown eyes

For more information on how to take care of your lenses whether they're colored or not. How to put them in, and how to take them out. As well as a coupon code for you to get lenses....watch the video! :D

Hurricane Irene

Have any of you lived through a hurricane before? I have no idea what to expect, i've never seen this before. I mean, i'm from NY, we don't tend to get hit that often, but when we did in the past, it was pretty bad.

Now what i'm thinking is that it won't be that bad. I've taken all the safety precautions like filling up my car with gas (though if there's a flood, i'm not really going anywhere) and stocking up on food. As for boarding the windows... well we didn't do that. I just know I'm not sleeping in my room, because if the trees around me fall, they fall right in my room. So i've pretty much taken the safety precautions I can, also buying candles and matches... and my dad has some flashlights somewhere.

But you know what, I think the news is making it seem extremely bad. They don't want to be responsible for what happens and are telling us the worst case scenario so that everyone is prepared, because no one really knows what to expect. Although hurricane Irene was a 3 at first of how strong it was, it has died down to a 2 yesterday, and a 1 today. How bad could it possibly be?

Thing is, no matter what happens all we can do is be as prepared as possible. We can't stop mother nature. So even if it rips my roof off of my house, and my house floods, what can I do but run and get to a safety shelter? Sure starting over will be extremely hard and i'll think it's impossible, but it can be done. People have started over in New Orleans and Japan. We truly don't know what we're capable of until we're put in that situation. I'll be hoping for the best, and hoping that no severe damage is done. But i'll stay strong even if I have to start all over.

Here's to surviving this hurricane in one piece in your own house, may there be no severe damage...
